2026 WTCAC Internship Program


Summer Internship – Wisconsin Tribal Conservation Advisory Council (WTCAC)

Location: Various Tribal communities in Wisconsin
Duration: Summer 2025 June 1st – August 7th
Wage: $17 per hour

Deadline to Apply: March 31st, 2026

Eligibility: Native American college students who are interested in natural resources, agriculture, or environmental sciences

The Wisconsin Tribal Conservation Advisory Council (WTCAC) is seeking motivated college students for our Summer Internship Program. This hands-on internship offers the opportunity to work alongside Tribal natural resource and agricultural professionals while gaining valuable field experience in conservation, environmental stewardship, and food systems.

Interns will assist with a variety of projects that may include:

  • Invasive species and pest surveys
  • Water quality monitoring and habitat restoration
  • Agricultural and food sovereignty projects
  • Outreach, education, and community engagement

Through this program, interns will learn about conservation from both western science and Indigenous perspectives, gaining a deeper understanding of how natural resource management supports Tribal sovereignty and community well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age to apply
  • Must be an enrolled student at college or university in Wisconsin
  • Must be an enrolled member of a federally recognized Tribe in Wisconsin
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Must be living in Wisconsin during the internship
  • Interest in working with Tribal communities and learning about Tribal natural resource priorities
  • Willingness to work outdoors and travel within Wisconsin
  • Have reliable transportation
